Between leaving Cochem and heading to Bachrach, we made a day trip to Trier. Trier was established by the Roman Emperor Constantine and is home to several Roman ruins, Porta Nigra being the most well known.
We saw the Dom, the Basillica, the Baths and the archeological museum. We had lunch at the museum cafe.
It was a cooler day, not too many people out and a nice side trip on our way to the Rhein.
